Young & Able is a New York-based company which focuses on fashion from a variety of emerging designers. As they put it, Young & Able aims to “tell the story behind how and why a product is made and create a community where both designers and consumers can interact at every level”. Pretty interesting.
Young & Able has an array of items on their site, including clothing for both men and women, bags, accessories, personal care products, home decor, and gifts. They also feature spotlights on specific designers, which include articles and even videos. One of their spotlights is currently on Alder New York, which is a label that was started in 2011 by two (very fashionable!) college students, Nina Zilka and David J. Krause.

I love the fact that Young & Able shares not only fashion and a place to shop – but also stories behind the designers. It’s really interesting to read how and why a company was started and exactly who you’re purchasing things from. It makes the shopping experience much more personal – which is a great thing.

I was beyond excited when the Creative Director and Founder of Young & Able, Rosa Ng, sent me an invite to their “Emerging Designer Spring Gathering” event, which is this week at The Carlton Hotel. I can’t wait to meet some designers in person, shop their lines, and take a ton of photos of the event (expect a post about it soon)!
