The Hollywood Reporter: Actress Roundtable

Nov 20 2014

The most recent cover of The Hollywood Reporter is simple but breath-taking: seven actresses, all well known women in the entertainment industry, in perfect silhouettes of chic black and white. And holy chic, is the article fantastic as well.

The seven actresses, Patricia Arquette, Laura Dern, Julianne Moore, Reese Witherspoon, Amy Adams, Hilary Swank, and Felicity Jones, share tales which bounce back and forth between their professional and (everyone’s favorite) personal lives. As expected, there’s a strong emphasis on the power of women – and sometimes lack thereof – in the world in general, really, and it’s quite an intense article with the voices of so many females. Read more (and see video footage, as well) here.
I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a feminist per say, but I can certainly agree with points that are made in the article, including a statement made by Reese Witherspoon: “Why do we have to tear other women down to build another woman up? It drives me crazy. Like, this one looks great without makeup, but that one doesn’t look good without her makeup, and it’s all just a judgement and assault..” It’s quite true, and it relates to men as well. It’s certainly a dog-eat-dog world out there sometimes (likely a contributing factor to the motivation behind my previous “Random Acts of Kindness” post), and The Hollywood Reporter dives right into it. Definitely take a peek.
Also – let’s discuss the PERFECTION that is Reese’s dress. It’s pretty much little Miss Pilgrim meets a runway in NYC, and I LOVE IT! (Can you tell)? A friend of mine guessed correctly (and immediately, might I add), that it was Valentino, so I immediately knew it was way out of my price range, but a girl can dream, right? Way too expensive. (I’m also a bit biased here, as I think Miss Witherspoon is absolutely adorable, and I’m flattered whenever someone tells me I look like her. Apparently, she is my celebrity doppelganger).
Thankfully, the fashion world is swamped with knock-offs and look-alikes, and I’ve found a few dresses that are similar to the masterpiece above:
And while we are on the topic of Valentino..I had no idea they made SNEAKERS!

PS – do you have a celeb look-alike? Who is it?!
