New Beauty Products in My Vanity

Oct 16 2014
Beauty products have never really been my thing, as I wear pretty minimal makeup – and the products I use are quite simple (and cheap)! On a “normal” day, it’s this foundation, eyeliner, and mascara, and I’m good to go. Maybe some lip gloss – but that’s really it. I use very simple products and only buy designer items for lip glosses, lipsticks, and perfumes. The “extras”.
I’ve been testing out some new products recently, and I have to say that I’ve been pleasantly surprised by them all. I’ve never been into serious skin care, or even hair care since my hair is very thin and easy to manage, but testing new items is always a game-changer. So..here are a few new products that I’ve been trying out.
The first products are by davines, and they are oils for your hair. The “All in One Milk” product adds shine, softness, and silkiness, controls frizz, conditions, moisturizes, detangles, etc. It basically does anything and everything that you might need for your hair, and it’s great for all hair-types.
The “Absolute Beautifying Potion” is mainly for detangling and anti-frizz purposes, and it also adds shine. If you have wavy or curly hair, this product is definitely for you.
I’ve also been playing around with “Powder Play” from big sexy hair. It instantly adds volume to dry hair, and the powder comes out white but turns clear almost immediately. (This boggled my mind). It’s like a dry shampoo and hair spray all in one. The second the powder goes on, your hair feels instantly cleaner (mainly less greasy), and then you just mold your hair how you wish. I was very surprised at how well it works.
The other two products I’m using recently are a pore cleanser by dr. brandt and a body lotion by Gilchrist & Soames. As far as the pore cleanser goes, it’s hands down one of the best products I’ve ever used. It’s a cream that targets “problem areas” on your face, and you can use it in just those areas – instead of dealing with the hassle of a full mask. I’ve been using it 2-3 times a week, and my skin feels MUCH cleaner. I highly recommend this one.
My favorite thing about the Gilchrist & Soames lotion is the scent. It smells wonderful (and expensive! even though it’s not); it’s like something they’d put on you after a spa treatment – and to be honest, that’s really what sold me. The aromatherapy is great, and the lotion obviously feels lovely too.
Are there any new products that you’ve recently discovered or have been using for a while? Comment and let me know! I love trying new things.
xoxo
