Navy Blue & Black

I know it’s still summer, and I certainly am not trying to push the season aside, but my thoughts are already stirring around fall fashion. One theme I’m looking forward to as the fall approaches is navy blue and black – and mixing the two, as well.
The last time I went shopping, I noticed that I was pulling the same items over and over – navy blue lace and black leather. (And a definite jackpot was hit when I was able to combine both into one outfit)! Navy blue gives the harshness of black a romantic, classy touch, and adding black to a navy piece gives the blue more of a sexy edge.
This black leather skirt is flirty and fun – great for a night out. I’ve also seen longer versions (much closer to the knee), which can definitely be office appropriate, as long as you stay super conservative with the rest of your getup – i.e. a crisp white button-down, black tights, and a simple black pump. This dress is perfection (and so is she). Navy blue lace is classy and timeless; it’s one of my favorites, and it’s perfect for any event. Work, a wedding, a bridal/baby shower..you name it. Some other great lace dresses are below (I have the first one..it looks great with a skinny belt)!

Like I said, I’m certainly not pushing the summertime away, but I’m getting quite excited for fall outfits again. And layering – my favorite! Stay tuned for what else is on my radar for the upcoming season.
