Labor Day Recap

There’s no better way to end the summer than with a long, holiday weekend. I had no plans for any vacations, or really even any set items on my schedule for the entire weekend..I just planned on winging the entire thing. And it was perfect. Sometimes being completely free and up for anything leads to great experiences and fun times with friends! (Disclaimer: get ready for a picture overload).
On Friday afternoon, a coworker and I jumped in a cab right to the west side and headed toward The Frying Pan – a great outdoor bar right on the water. In fact – literally on the water. It’s on a huge boat. The sun was gleaming, I was SERIOUSLY regretting wearing my new jeans from Ann Taylor (#holyhot), and we had Coronas in the sunshine. Not a shabby start to the weekend!
Their crab cake was absolutely delicious, and I couldn’t get over the presentation of the dish..especially considering it was “bar food”! A definite recommendation if you find yourself there before they close next month.
Saturday morning involved an early rise to meet friends in Penn Station to catch a train to Long Beach. We were on the beach before 11am, and the weather was beautiful. I of course got a sunburn, but it was quite worth it. Believe it or not, I hadn’t made it to the beach ALL summer, so I was beyond thrilled to finally swim in the ocean. I LOVE swimming in the waves!
My night-time outfit: dress from BCBGeneration (previously blogged here and on sale here for SO cheap), necklace from Bauble Bar, and shoes from Zara.
Monday was all about relaxing (#tvandpinterestallday), and I had a nice dinner to wrap up the long weekend at The Penrose, which is one of my favorite spots on the Upper East Side. (See my previous post on The Penrose here).
Quite a myriad of activities this weekend for me. I hope everyone else enjoyed their last official summer weekend. Happy fall..time for layering!!
xoxo
