I’ve recently come across a new company, and I just had to share this one – even though they’re not out of New York!
Eastern Drift, who recently commented on one of our instagram photos (come follow us @atrailof2citiesnyc), is a small, locally run business out of Washington D.C. They live by the motto “Dress Socially, Help Locally” – and it’s one of the most pleasant things I’ve seen about a company in a
long very long time.
Eastern Drift is all about “dressing fashionably while helping others” – as it says right on their website. What exactly does that mean? I thought the same thing, so I clicked around..
For every shirt sold, this D.C. company donates a second shirt to charity – to “a child in our area who needs it most,” as they say. Wow. Not only did their preppy vibe grab my attention immediately, but the heart and soul behind this company astounded me and made me want to know more.
As far as their product line goes, they sell very simple pieces – comfy shirts, hats, and koozies, etc. – at very reasonable prices. And I can assume (and hope!) that there’s only more to come.
For those of you on the East Coast, Eastern Drift will be making a personal appearance as a sponsor at the Foxfield Races in Virginia this coming April. If you happen to be at the event, make sure to stop by their tent (which will include free give-aways!) Our group of girlfriends from college went to the races last year, and it was unbelievable. The size of the crowd and the huge party that occurs around the event are amazing. See below for some proof! (Sidenote: this is one of the preppiest events on the entire planet. If you don’t enjoy white dresses, cardigans, bow-ties, pearls, pastels, etc., then don’t go. You’ll be sick from the amount of prep at the event. A.k.a. – I was in heaven).
If you visit one site today, or can afford to make one extra purchase this week, please consider this company. Who can resist shopping while donating to charity at the same time? Kudos, Eastern Drift. We are very impressed and plan on making a purchase or two very soon.
Check them out, and spread the word!
