Designer Items for Less

When I first decided to start my blog, I was pulling lots of inspiration for posts from some very well-known fashion blogs that are out there right now. While their posts are always lovely and I often drool over some outfits, half the time, I’m thinking “how in the WORLD do they afford this stuff?” And I know I cannot be the only one.
One of the main intentions of my blog was..and still is..to show people that it’s more than possible to put together very nice outfits (and to decorate a home quite nicely) on a budget. I have absolutely no shame in throwing together outfits that were purchased entirely from Target, Old Navy, or other bargain stores, while some other “bigger” bloggers are equipped with Celine bags, Hermes jewelry, and some wildly expensive clothing items. Newsflash: It’s not just you. None of us can afford that stuff. Welcome to the real world.
It’s beyond fun to look at some of these blogs and daydream about owning the unbelievable clothing and accessories (a girl can dream), but it’s safe to assume that many of the girls reading these much larger blogs don’t even know what a Celine bag is, or who Hermes is, etc. And that’s okay. It’s more than okay. It is beyond important to realize that when it comes to fashion, at the end of the day, no one really cares where you purchased your shirt from – and whether you spent $20 or $200. Like I said, I’ve posted entire outfits from Target and Old Navy that are absolutely adorable. Bargain shopping and saving a buck..and looking great at the same time..is a wonderful feeling!
I definitely do splurge on some expensive items from time to time, which feels great. It’s a wonderful feeling to work hard and be able to afford nice things. And for those of you that are still dying for some of those even nicer designer items (as we all likely are) – I stumbled across a website called The Real Real recently, which sells used designer items for much, much less.
